Griswold v. Connecticut decision upholds the rights of Planned Parenthood.

June 7, 1965

Supreme Court, by a 7 to 2 margin, strikes down a Connecticut law used to prohibit a Planned Parenthood clinic in New Haven from providing contraceptives to married couples. the court recognizes a constitutional “right to privacy” that is later used in the landmark Roe v. Wade case in 1973.*
